Man shot near home

A man is fighting for his life at the San Fernando General Hospital after a gunman shot him near his home on Monday night.

Tamba Williams, 23, was urinating behind Building V in Embacadere in San Fernando shortly before 10 pm when a gunman ambushed him and opened fire.

Police said the gunman ran off, leaving the injured man. A bullet went through his neck, police said. No one else was injured.

Neighbours found Williams bleeding on the ground and took him to the hospital where he had emergency surgery.

Up to Tuesday afternoon, he remained in a critical condition.

San Fernando police including ASP Williams and Insp Maharaj visited the scene and spoke to several people.

No one has been arrested.
