Maloney man in court on murder charge, firearm offences

A Mal­oney man has ap­peared be­fore a Mas­ter of the High Court, charged with the mur­der of Michael Au­gus­tine, which oc­curred in May last year.

Neb­marie Lee, 24, of Mal­oney, al­so was charged with pos­ses­sion of firearm and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion, when he ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Deli­cia Bethelmy, on Mon­day 3 June 2025.

The Suf­fi­cien­cy Hear­ing date has been set for No­vem­ber 28, 2025.

Michael Au­gus­tine, 35, of Tacarigua, was shot and killed on Wednes­day 15 May 2024, in the D’Abadie dis­trict.

One male sus­pect was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the mat­ter on Tues­day 27 May 2025.

The sus­pect was held along the Churchill Roo­sevelt High­way, Ari­ma, by of­fi­cers of the North­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force.

Lee was charged with the of­fences by Cpl Bushell al­so of the HBI Re­gion Two, on Mon­day 3 June 2025, fol­low­ing ad­vice re­ceived from Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions, Roger Gas­pard SC, on that same date.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions were su­per­vised by ASP (Ag.) Vic­tor, W/In­sp. Sylvester, Sgts. Ra­moutar and Rad­haykissoon and Cpl Subi­ah, all of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions (HBI), Re­gion Two.
