Liberty Caribbean Trinidad supported the annual charity golf tournament hosted by The Shelter for Battered Women and Children on June 29 at the St Andrew’s Golf Course, Moka. The event raised funds and awareness for survivors of gender-based violence.

Participants included business leaders, golf players, and advocates. The initiative forms part of Liberty Caribbean Trinidad’s corporate social responsibility programme.

Vice President and General Manager Simone Martin-Sulgan said the company is committed to supporting critical social causes. She described the tournament as a platform for community engagement and highlighted the company’s responsibility to support wellbeing and safety.

Liberty Caribbean Trinidad has sponsored the event for the past five years. Martin-Sulgan said the company remains committed to its ongoing partnership with The Shelter and its efforts to address gender-based violence.

The event featured a day of golf and networking. Organisers also highlighted the importance of education, advocacy, and support services for survivors of domestic violence.

Through its sponsorship, Liberty Caribbean Trinidad helps fund programmes and services for survivors and raises public awareness of gender-based violence.

The Shelter provides a safe space and assistance to women and children who have experienced domestic violence. It continues to partner with organisations to sustain its operations and extend its reach.

Liberty Caribbean Trinidad’s support of The Shelter reflects its stated aim to make a positive social impact beyond its core telecommunications business.

The company said its continued involvement in the event demonstrates alignment with national efforts to support vulnerable populations.
