Full-term female fetus found in Beetham landfill

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the dis­cov­ery of a full-term fe­male fe­tus at the Beetham land­fill on Mon­day af­ter­noon.

Po­lice said a per­son who usu­al­ly vis­its the land­fill to sal­vage garbage and scrap, no­ticed a leg dan­gling out of a garbage bag around 3.28 pm.

On emp­ty­ing the bag, the per­son found the de­com­pos­ing body of a full-term fe­male fe­tus.

Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions vis­it­ed the scene with a dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer who of­fi­cial de­clared that there was no life in the fe­tus.

Of­fi­cers of the Port of Spain CID al­so vis­it­ed the scene.
