Four arrested, drugs and cash seized in East

Four men were ar­rest­ed and quan­ti­ties of cannabis and cash seized dur­ing a po­lice op­er­a­tion in San­gre Grande on Sat­ur­day night.

The ex­er­cise, car­ried out be­tween 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. in the East­ern Di­vi­sion, tar­get­ed sus­pect­ed drug-re­lat­ed ac­tiv­i­ty along the East­ern Main Road. Of­fi­cers act­ed on in­tel­li­gence re­ceived and con­duct­ed mul­ti­ple search­es in the area.

The sus­pects, aged 26 to 40, are all from San­gre Grande. Po­lice said each was held with vary­ing amounts of cannabis and cash in their pos­ses­sion.

The op­er­a­tion forms part of on­go­ing ef­forts to dis­man­tle the il­le­gal drug trade in the dis­trict.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.

The ex­er­cise was co­or­di­nat­ed by Snr Supt Pa­ponette and In­sp Harp­er, with sup­port from the East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force.
