There were reports of flooding in several areas in south Trinidad on Wednesday morning.

At Penal Rock Road junction in Moruga, the river near Boysie’s Restaurant and Bar was on the brink of overflowing.

The water was flowing behind the businessplace and nearby houses.

At the Moruga Main Road in St Mary’s Village, near Saunders Trace, the road was filled with water, and some drivers were waiting for it to subside before venturing into it.

There were also reports of flash and street flooding in various low-lying areas in Barrackpore, Penal, and Union Hall in San Fernando.

Since before dawn, there has been heavy and continuous rain in south Trinidad.

Up to midmorning, there have not been any reports of major residential flooding.

This is a developing story.
