Five held, two firearms seized

Five peo­ple were ar­rest­ed and two firearms seized dur­ing sep­a­rate ex­er­cis­es across the North­ern, East­ern and South­ern Di­vi­sions on Tues­day.

In the East­ern Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers at­tached to the Man­zanil­la Po­lice Post ar­rest­ed two men around 4:30 pm af­ter find­ing a pis­tol loaded with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 15 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

Be­tween 1 am and 4 am in the North­ern Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers searched an apart­ment build­ing in the dis­trict and dis­cov­ered a pis­tol along with nine rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

Lat­er that evening in the Princes Town dis­trict, of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed a 29-year-old San Fer­nan­do man for lar­ce­ny of a mo­tor ve­hi­cle, a 31-year-old Princes Town man for wound­ing with in­tent to cause griev­ous bod­i­ly harm, and a 45-year-old Iere Vil­lage man for breach­ing a pro­tec­tion or­der. The ex­er­cise ran from 8 pm to 11 pm.
