Firearm and ammunition seized during West End Police operation

A firearm and a quan­ti­ty of am­mu­ni­tion were seized dur­ing an Op­er­a­tion Tri­dent Ex­er­cise con­duct­ed in the West End Po­lice Dis­trict yes­ter­day.

Be­tween 12:45 pm and 3:30 pm on Mon­day 3rd No­vem­ber 2025, of­fi­cers of the West End Di­vi­sion Gang and In­tel­li­gence Unit (WDG­IU), act­ing on in­for­ma­tion re­ceived, pro­ceed­ed to Up­per North Post Road, Diego Mar­tin, in an area known as The Pines.

While con­duct­ing a search near a con­crete plat­form, of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered one brown and black shot­gun wrapped in a black plas­tic bag. Fur­ther ex­am­i­na­tion re­vealed the firearm con­tained two rounds of 12-gauge am­mu­ni­tion.

Of­fi­cers al­so ob­served sev­er­al cut and burnt pine trees at the lo­ca­tion. A so­lar-pow­ered CCTV cam­era af­fixed to one of the trees was re­moved and tak­en to the sta­tion pend­ing fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tions.

The op­er­a­tion was sanc­tioned by Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent Williams and W/Ag. ASP Aguil­le­ria. It was co­or­di­nat­ed by In­spec­tor Grant and Sergeant Cor­bett, and su­per­vised by Ag/Cpl Joseph.

Po­lice con­firmed that in­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing and urged mem­bers of the pub­lic to pro­vide any in­for­ma­tion that could as­sist with the mat­ter. No ar­rests were re­port­ed at the time of the op­er­a­tion.

The West End Di­vi­sion stat­ed that Op­er­a­tion Tri­dent con­tin­ues to tar­get crim­i­nal ac­tiv­i­ty in the dis­trict, with an em­pha­sis on re­duc­ing the il­le­gal pos­ses­sion of firearms and re­lat­ed of­fences. Of­fi­cers said they re­main com­mit­ted to pa­trolling high-risk ar­eas and act­ing on in­tel­li­gence re­ceived from the com­mu­ni­ty.
