Three people were injured on Monday afternoon when a man armed with a cutlass attacked them at a home in Cunupia.

Around 3:30 p.m., the victims were at a house on William Trace,  when the attacker, identified as the estranged husband of one of the victims, stormed the premises. The man, who has a Protection Order against him, allegedly chopped a 26-year-old male relative several times, severing part of his right thumb.

Two female relatives aged, 55, and 26, intervened to help but were also wounded.

The estranged wife of the attacker, received cuts to both legs.

The suspect fled in a silver Mitsubishi Lancer but returned minutes later with two other men and issued death threats before leaving again.

All three victims were taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility. None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

Police visited the scene and obtained medical certificates for all victims. Efforts to locate the suspect have so far been unsuccessful.

Investigations are ongoing.
