Carapichaima woman stabbed in domestic dispute

A Cara­pichaima woman was hos­pi­talised on Fri­day night af­ter her com­mon-law hus­band stabbed her sev­er­al times dur­ing an ar­gu­ment.

The 46-year-old woman was at home on Fri­day when the 35-year-old sus­pect re­port­ed­ly ar­rived at the house.

Of­fi­cers of the Freeport CID, on mo­bile pa­trol at the time, re­ceived a re­port of a dis­tur­bance and re­spond­ed im­me­di­ate­ly.

When they ar­rived, they saw the cou­ple ar­gu­ing in the street.

The woman told po­lice they had been at home to­geth­er when an ar­gu­ment broke out around 9 pm and quick­ly es­ca­lat­ed in­to a heat­ed quar­rel.

As the sit­u­a­tion turned vi­o­lent, the sus­pect al­leged­ly struck her on the head with a glass bot­tle be­fore grab­bing a kitchen knife and stab­bing her sev­er­al times.

The of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed the sus­pect at the scene and took the woman to the Ch­agua­nas Health Fa­cil­i­ty, where she was treat­ed and dis­charged.
