AS OFFICERS of the Counter Trafficking Unit (CTU) continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the discovery of two Venezuelan nationals, believed to be victims of human trafficking, Minister of National Security Edmund Dillon in a release, called for greater community policing by citizens. “The Ministry of National Security wishes to underscore that crime in the country cannot be tackled solely by law enforcement,” stated the release, “but we remain dependent on the cooperation and active concern of the general public.” The release sought to highlight the crime of human trafficking to the public. In the release the Minister of National Security urged citizens to be observant for possible indicators of human trafficking.
