A 47-year-old landscaper was shot after he drove to San Juan to meet a potential client who contacted his company by telephone on Monday morning.

Police said the landscaper and a clerk visited Moreau Road, San Juan, around 9.30 am to meet the client.

While parked at the side of the road, the landscaper noticed a stranger dressed in black and wearing a blue surgical mask approaching his van.

The landscaper drove off as the suspect pulled out a gun and shot him on the left side of his neck.

The wounded man drove to the San Juan Police Station, where he was taken to hospital, treated and discharged.

Police said the clerk, who was also in the van at the time, was unharmed.

Officers of the San Juan CID and the North Eastern Division Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) Unit visited the scene and found 12 spent 9mm shells.
